Following a recent incident at Abuja’s Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport involving Fuji musician Wasiu Ayinde, another incident occurred at Lagos’ Murtala Muhammed Airport. A female passenger became violent on an Ibom Air flight, assaulting a flight attendant. Videos of the incident were shared on X.
Ibom Air reported that the passenger, identified as Ms. Comfort Emmanson, assaulted a crew member on a flight from Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, to Lagos. The airline stated that Emmanson’s behavior posed a serious threat to the safety of crew, passengers, and the aircraft.
According to Ibom Air, Emmanson was instructed to turn off her mobile phone in line with aviation safety procedures but refused to comply until the Pilot-in-Command made an announcement. A fellow passenger turned off the phone for her, prompting Emmanson to verbally lash out. The situation calmed, and the flight proceeded as scheduled.

Upon arrival in Lagos, after other passengers disembarked, Emmanson confronted the purser who had earlier instructed her. Emmanson allegedly stepped on the purser, forcibly removed her wig, took off her glasses and threw them, and assaulted her with footwear.
Ibom Air has placed travel restrictions on Emmanson due to her disruptive behavior and assault on a crew member.
