The 2025/2026 Turkish Super Lig season starts tomorrow, with Galatasaray, the team that won the last title, beginning their campaign by playing away against Gaziantep FK.
However, a new report says that Galatasaray will be missing one of their key players — Nigerian forward Victor Osimhen.
Osimhen recently moved to Galatasaray permanently after a successful loan spell, but he wasn’t listed in the team’s starting lineup announced by coach Okan Buruk.
The club hasn’t given a reason for why he’s not playing.
The 26-year-old forward joined Galatasaray from Napoli in Italy and quickly became a fan favorite, scoring more than 30 goals across all competitions last season.

His strong performance helped Galatasaray win both the league and the Turkish Cup, achieving a double.
Other players not in the squad include Argentine forward Mauro Icardi and Spanish player Álvaro Morata, who is said to be close to moving to an Italian club.
Even though Osimhen is missing, he is expected to be back in time for Galatasaray’s next league game, which is at home against Fatih Karagümrük. Fans are eager to see him play again as the team looks to build on its success from last season.
