Bodo Community in Gokana Local Government Area of Rivers State is heaving a sigh of relief following the death of a notorious criminal, Jeremiah Tonbari Naabie, popularly known as TIME, in a joint covert operation carried out by the Nigerian Military, Police, Department of State Services (DSS), and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC).
The operation, conducted on Monday, August 6, 2025, marked the end of a reign of terror that lasted five years, during which TIME was linked to multiple murders, kidnappings, and threats against critical national infrastructure.
Authorities say TIME’s activities date back to 2020, when he allegedly murdered a palace servant, forcing the Paramount Ruler of Bodo and several residents to flee the community for safety. His most recent victim, Benjamin Barileera, was reportedly killed on July 27, 2025.

In addition to violent crimes, TIME had also threatened to bomb the Trans Niger Pipeline — a major national economic asset under the protection of Pipeline Infrastructure Nigeria Limited.

While celebrating the breakthrough, community leaders and residents also called for continued action against other members of TIME’s gang who are currently on the run.
The community commended the gallantry and coordination of the Nigerian Armed Forces and other security agencies in dismantling the network of terror in the area.
