In a bold leap for fashion and technology, Meta has teamed up with Nigerian fashion house I.N. Official to debut the first-ever AI-powered fashion collection at the upcoming Africa Fashion Week London (AFWL), taking place on Saturday, August 9, 2025.
The futuristic collection, titled “Transcendence,” was designed entirely with the help of Meta AI, from concept sketches to fabric selection. Spearheaded by Nigerian designer Ifeanyi Nwune, Creative Director of I.N. Official, the project redefines what’s possible when African creativity meets cutting-edge technology.
“With Meta AI, we are transcending an African future fuelled by unity, creativity, and technology,” Nwune said, describing how AI helped shape everything from silhouettes to accessories.
One standout piece in the collection fuses traditional Nigerian Agbada with Japanese Hakama elements, a concept born from AI-generated imagery. These AI visuals acted as mood boards and creative blueprints, streamlining the design journey in ways previously unimaginable.
Meta’s ‘Imagine’ tool and integrated search features helped Nwune’s team explore bold color combinations, fabrics, and styling ideas that brought the concept to life.

Balkissa Idé Siddo, Meta’s Public Policy Director for Sub-Saharan Africa, called the project a milestone moment:
“This collaboration is proof that African designers can lead global innovation. Meta AI is helping creators dream bigger, build faster, and unlock new forms of expression using tools available in apps they already use.”
The partnership aligns with Meta’s broader goal of empowering African creatives with accessible AI tools to tell authentic stories and scale their visions.
As Nigeria continues to stand at the forefront of Africa’s creative revolution, this AI-powered collection not only pushes the boundaries of design, it positions Nigerian fashion as a driving force in shaping the future of global style.
