“Davido is Nigeria’s Most Influential Person” – Asa Asika Reveals

Asika

In a recent podcast appearance that’s sparking widespread discussion, Asa Asika, the longtime manager of Afrobeats superstar Davido, made a bold declaration about his client’s cultural impact. During his interview on the Zeph Podcast, the prominent talent manager positioned the DMW label head as Nigeria’s preeminent influencer.

This assertion comes amidst an ongoing debate among music fans about which of Nigeria’s “big three” artists – Davido, Wizkid, or Burna Boy – wields the greatest cultural sway. While all three enjoy massive global followings, Asika’s comments suggest there’s more to influence than just social media metrics.

“Davido is mad influential. I don’t care what anybody says, I think Davido is the most influential person in Nigeria. I have seen it firsthand,” Asika stated with conviction during the conversation.

Interestingly, Davido currently holds the distinction of being Nigeria’s celebrity with the most followers across digital platforms. However, his manager’s comments imply that true influence extends beyond follower counts to tangible impact on Nigerian culture, business, and youth movements.
