‎Youth League: Remo Stars Lead Group on Opening Day

‎Following Matchday 1 of the 2024/25 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) Youth League at the Ikenne Centre, Remo Stars are currently at the top of the standings due to goal difference after achieving a 2-0 win against Kwara United.

‎Remo Stars Stadium is the venue for the Southwest zone of the competition, which features NPFL teams from Ibadan, Akure, Benin, Lagos, and Ilorin.

‎The day’s matches began with Bendel Insurance taking on Ikorodu City, where the Lagos team triumphed with a score of 2-1.

‎In the second match, Remo Stars kept a clean sheet, overcoming the “Afonja Warriors” from Ilorin with a score of 2-0.

‎The final match of the day ended in a draw, as Sunshine Stars and Shooting Stars each secured a point following a 2-2 tie.


‎The NPFL Youth League, aimed at players under 19 years of age, has been divided into three zones. Umuahia will host Rivers United, Akwa United, Enyimba, Heartland, Rangers, Lobi Stars, and the home team, Abia Warriors.

‎Kano will accommodate Katsina United, Niger Tornadoes, Plateau United, El-Kanemi Warriors, and Kano Pillars. The fixtures for the other two zones are planned to occur from August 10-14.
