The future of Ademola Lookman is still uncertain after the Nigerian striker missed Atalanta’s pre-season training on Monday. The club has officially said they won’t let him move to Inter Milan or any other team in Italy’s Serie A.
Atalanta’s CEO, Luca Percassi, made this clear when he introduced the club’s new goalkeeper, Marco Sportiello. He explained that, based on past agreements, Lookman can’t transfer to any other Serie A team.
Over the weekend, Lookman shared his frustration on social media about his possible move. He said he didn’t understand why Atalanta was stopping him from joining Inter. He also criticised the club for treating him badly as both a person and a professional after they refused an offer of €45 million, including bonuses, from Inter.
Percassi has given an update on the situation, which comes after the long talks that led to Victor Osimhen moving from Napoli to Galatasaray last week.

He told the media, “It’s a good opportunity to clarify what happened.
Last year, after a €20 million offer from PSG, the player wanted to leave. Today, the situation is very different. The club is careful when deciding on a player’s value and timing, but as always, it’s Atalanta that makes the final decision. “
Despite this, Lookman, who is under contract until June 2027, seems unhappy. He didn’t show up for Atalanta’s training at Zingonia on Monday for pre-season activities.
