Stanbic IBTC Unveils Enhanced ‘APPbility’ Digital Banking Platform

Stanbic IBTC Holdings PLC has launched a major upgrade to its mobile banking application, introducing version 3.0 of its ‘APPbility’ platform. The enhanced digital solution aims to transform customer banking experiences with expanded financial services and improved functionality.

During the official unveiling, Wole Adeniyi, Chief Executive of Stanbic IBTC Bank, described the launch as a strategic advancement in the institution’s digital transformation journey. “This upgrade represents our commitment to delivering innovative financial solutions that meet our customers’ evolving needs,” Adeniyi stated.

The new version introduces several significant features, including integrated insurance services through the bank’s brokerage platform and enhanced wealth management capabilities via the ‘BluNest’ investment portal. Customers can now conveniently purchase life and general insurance policies while managing their trust accounts and mutual fund investments directly through the app.

A notable addition is the platform’s multilingual support, offering transaction capabilities in both English and Mandarin. Kunle Adedeji, Acting Chief Executive of Stanbic IBTC, explained this feature was designed to better serve Nigeria’s diverse business community and facilitate smoother cross-border transactions.

The upgraded interface promises improved navigation and user experience, building on the bank’s existing digital infrastructure. This development comes as Nigerian financial institutions increasingly prioritize digital solutions to cater to the country’s growing population of tech-savvy banking customers.

Industry observers note the Mandarin language option positions Stanbic IBTC strategically within Nigeria’s business ecosystem, particularly for Chinese-Nigerian commercial interactions. The bank has announced plans for nationwide customer education initiatives to ensure smooth adoption of the new platform features.
