Controversial auto dealer Ikechukwu Ogbonna, popularly known as IVD, has reportedly been arrested at Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos by operatives of the Lagos State Directorate of Public Prosecutions.
The arrest, which took place on Friday, August 1, 2025, is linked to the ongoing domestic violence and manslaughter case involving the death of his wife, Bimbo Ogbonna, who died in October 2022 following a fire incident at their Lekki residence. The Lagos State Government had previously charged IVD with one count of involuntary manslaughter under suit No LD/21055C/23.
Contrary to earlier speculation, IVD was not attempting to travel at the time of his arrest. However, the incident occurred just days before his planned wedding to relationship therapist and influencer Blessing CEO, which was reportedly scheduled to take place in Qatar.
Media personality Stella Dimoko-Korkus confirmed the arrest in an Instagram post, stating:
“Domestic violence case against him regarding his late wife is still in court. IVD is not supposed to leave Nigeria until the case is over.”

Blessing CEO has since reacted subtly on social media, sharing bridal-themed photos with the caption:
“Bride to be. Saturdays are for weddings.”
Her post has sparked mixed reactions online, with many questioning the timing and tone amid IVD’s legal troubles. Some users criticized her for appearing unfazed, while others speculated about the future of their relationship.
IVD is expected to remain in custody until Monday, August 4, when he will reportedly appear in court.
As the story continues to unfold, fans and critics alike are watching closely to see how the legal proceedings will affect both IVD’s personal life and public image.
