Vice Admiral Ibok-Ette Ekwe Ibas (rtd.), the Sole Administrator of Rivers State, has called on Corps Members to let their moral and ethical values shine as they contribute to the ongoing national effort to reform character and instill discipline in society.
Ibas made this call while speaking during the swearing-in ceremony of the 2025 Batch B Stream I Corps Members at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp in Nonwa-Gbam, Tai Local Government Area.
The SOLAD who was represented by the Secretary to the State Government and Chairman of the NYSC State Governing Board, Professor Ibibia Lucky Worika, urged the newly inducted corps members to align themselves with his administration’s values-driven agenda.

He emphasized the need for integrity, mutual trust, and discipline in all aspects of national life.
He said, “Let your conduct reflect the character reformation we seek in our society.”
In a show of commitment to the well-being of corps members, Ibas announced that the state government will soon provide 1,000 brand-new mattresses and undertake general renovation of hostels to improve the camp’s living conditions.

Also addressing the corps members, the NYSC Rivers State Coordinator, Mr. Moses Oleghe, encouraged them to see themselves as custodians of the nation’s future.
He challenged them to shed negative perceptions about the country and instead embrace their role as agents of change, unity, and national development.
“You are the torchbearers of a brighter future,” Oleghe said, urging the new inductees to actively promote peace and economic prosperity across Nigeria.
The oath of allegiance was administered by Justice Weli Amadi Chechey, who represented the Chief Judge of Rivers State.
A total of 2,002 Corps Members, comprising 804 males and 1,198 females were officially sworn in during the event.
