Fulham have entered negotiations with AC Milan over a possible transfer for Nigerian international Samuel Chukwueze, as the winger edges closer to a San Siro exit following a disappointing spell in Italy.
Reports indicate that the Premier League side recently made contact with Milan to explore a deal for the 26-year-old, who is no longer central to the Italian club’s long-term plans. The update was shared by transfer expert Nicolo Schira, who revealed that Fulham is the first club to make a concrete approach after weeks of inactivity surrounding Chukwueze’s future.
Talks between both clubs are underway, though discussions have yet to progress to details like transfer fees or personal terms. Fulham had previously shown interest in the Nigerian during the January transfer window but failed to reach an agreement. This time, however, Marco Silva’s team appears more determined to push the deal through.
Chukwueze signed for AC Milan from Villarreal in 2023 in a deal reportedly worth €21.1 million. Despite arriving with high expectations, the former La Liga winger has found consistent game time hard to come by in Serie A.

During the 2024/25 season, he managed just nine league starts in 26 appearances, totalling 918 minutes. His contributions included three goals and two assists, a modest return that has raised questions about his future with the Rossoneri.
Sources close to the club suggest that Milan is now willing to part ways with the Nigerian as part of a broader plan to refresh the squad. After failing to qualify for next season’s UEFA Champions League, the club is under financial pressure and looking to raise funds through player sales.
Chukwueze has participated in Milan’s ongoing pre-season tour, recently featuring in their 4-2 win against Liverpool in Hong Kong. He also found the net during a dominant 9-0 friendly victory over Perth Glory on Thursday, a performance that may boost his market value.
Despite those recent outings, the winger’s future at the club remains uncertain. With three years still left on his contract, Chukwueze has tallied 14 goal contributions in 69 appearances across all competitions for Milan.
A switch to Fulham could offer the former Villarreal man a much-needed reset, with the Premier League’s fast-paced style potentially suiting his explosive runs and direct attacking play.
