New PROHAN Commandant Promises to Hunt Down Criminals in Rivers

The newly elected Rivers State Commandant of the Professional Hunters Association of Nigeria (PROHAN), Retired Army Sergeant, Davies Benibo has promised both Rivers State and Nigeria at large of his determination to hunt down criminals and keep the state and country secure.

The army veteran was unanimously elected in July 2025 by a overwhelming majority of electors to oversee the Rivers State Command, with mandate to work with security agencies to protect lives and properties in the state and country.

Speaking with our correspondent, the new state commandant said PROHAN,” is a security outfit that is strategically structured to make sure that lives and properties are protected. We assist the security agencies by going into the deeper areas of communities to arrest and hand over criminals to government.

“In other words, we support the security agencies to make sure there is peace through out the whole country. Our duties are intelligence gathering and combating. We communicate with the people in the communities to get intelligence which we in turn share with security agencies.

“Today, I have been given the opportunity to lead the 23 Local Government Areas of Rivers State as the commandant and my duty is to train more people both men and women and send them to their various communities to keep their areas secure.

“We will keep our communities safe in a way that our traders, fishers and farmers can move freely without fear of being attacked by hoodlums. I promise Rivers State and Nigeria that we will comb everywhere to bring peace.

“Professional hunters under my command will go deep down into the hideouts of criminals, smoke them out and hand them over to security agencies. We only appeal to government at all levels to support us with necessary logistics.”
