The University of Port Harcourt has dismissed a viral video claiming that a snake was killed inside one of its classrooms and worshipped as a deity.

The video, which circulated widely, alleged that a large snake was seen sliding down from a classroom ceiling at night and was killed by students.
However, in a statement, the university described the claim as entirely false and attributed it to mischief-makers seeking online attention.
