Owu Sportswear, Nigeria’s biggest kit maker, has unveiled new jerseys for three Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) clubs, Rivers United, Kwara United, and Abia Warriors, ahead of the 2025/2026 season, starting August 22, 2025. The jerseys will be worn in both domestic and continental competitions, as announced by Owu’s CEO, Tunji Brown, during a media session on Wednesday.
Brown highlighted the high-quality meshed jacquard fabric used in the jerseys, designed to match and even beat the standards of top European clubs like Arsenal and Real Madrid. He described the kits as lightweight, moisture-free, sweat-resistant, weather-friendly and suited for Nigeria’s climate.
Since its inception in 2007 as a sports marketing brand, Owu Sportswear has grown into a key player in Nigerian football, previously supplying kits to 14 NPFL teams, 20 Nigeria National League clubs, 75 amateur sides, and over 200 academy teams. Brown noted the success of teams wearing Owu kits, including Kwara United’s historic Federation Cup win and Abia Warriors’ first-ever victory against Enyimba FC.

Owu’s reach extends beyond football, having provided free kits for national handball, squash, and badminton teams, as well as six NPFL clubs last season, including Lobi Stars, Akwa United, and Katsina United. Internationally, the company has supplied kits to teams in Ghana, Benin Republic, Massachusetts (USA), the MFM female basketball team, and the NPFL All-Star team for matches in South Africa and Spain.
Looking ahead, Owu plans to launch a ‘pick your fabrics’ program, allowing teams to customize their kit designs by themselves. The new jerseys were showcased to journalists alongside Arsenal and Real Madrid samples, demonstrating their comparable quality. With Rivers United, Kwara United, and Abia Warriors competing in CAF competitions, Owu Sportswear’s designs will gain visibility across Africa.
