FG Committed to Education Reforms

The Federal Government has reaffirmed its commitment to overhauling the education sector. Vice-President Kashim Shettima made this assurance during a visit by the University of Ibadan’s management team to the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

Shettima, a proud alumnus of the University of Ibadan, was conferred with the institution’s highest honor, the UI at 75 Ambassador Plenipotentiary award. This recognition acknowledges his outstanding contributions to public service and his achievements.

The Vice-President emphasized the government’s dedication to supporting institutions like the University of Ibadan. He assured the university management that the administration is committed to mobilizing resources to elevate the country’s education system.

Shettima highlighted key initiatives, including the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND), which aims to support students in need. This initiative is part of the government’s efforts to rescue the education sector and promote growth.

The Vice-President expressed optimism about the country’s economic prospects, stating that Nigeria has made significant progress. He attributed this progress to the government’s economic policies and leadership.

The University of Ibadan’s Vice-Chancellor, Professor Kayode Adebowale, praised Shettima’s achievements and contributions to public service. He noted that Shettima’s career spans multiple sectors, including banking, governance, and politics.
