Tinubu Clears Super Falcons’ Bonuses Ahead of WAFCON Final

President Bola Tinubu has sanctioned the complete disbursement of allowances and match bonuses for the Super Falcons, in anticipation of their final game against Morocco in the 2025 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).

This information is included in a statement released on the X account of the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu Media Center.

The statement indicates that the payment will address the salaries of the senior national team coach, which have been outstanding for up to 15 months, as well as the allowances and commitments owed to the senior national teams, including the female teams and the Under-20 national team.

The statement mentions, “The President has authorized the payment of N12 billion in outstanding debts for Nigeria’s national teams across various sports, which encompasses the Super Eagles and others.

“The payment involves settling the senior national team coach’s salaries that have been pending for 15 months, along with the allowances and commitments owed to the senior national teams, female teams, and the Under-20 national team.

“This announcement comes at a time when the Super Eagles of Nigeria are gearing up to compete in the Africa Cup of Nations, scheduled to commence later this month.”
