Upon completing primary school, students can enter JSS1 at 12. This new policy aims to ensure that students progress through the education system in a structured and orderly manner.

The policy is designed to align with the National Policy on Education, which emphasizes the importance of a well-structured education system. By setting a minimum entry age for JSS1, the government hopes to promote a more effective and efficient education system.
