High Court Rules in Akpana’s Favour as JONAPWD Chairman

Following the High Court judgment on the case involving the leadership of Joint National Association of Persons with disabilities, JONAPWD, Rivers State Chapter, which was ruled in favour of Comrade Collins Akpana and his Executives, who was the complainant, Lawyer to Comrade Akpana, Mr. Kodume Sheriff has called on the public to recognize Comrade Akpana as the Chairman of Joint National Association of Persons with disabilities, Rivers State Chapter.

Mr. Sheriff who was reacting to the judgment, said the ruling will lay to rest the lingering leadership crises in the Group, which will aid the furtherance of the Association.

“It was a well-considered judgment even if he thought it not to defend the suit, looking at the evidence in the court it is Comrade Collins Akpana that is the chairman of JONAPWD, Rivers state chapter, as soon as we get this judgement we are going to publish it and the national will also take note of this judgement” Mr. Sheriff said.

One of the members of JONAPWD, Wari Samuel and the Chairman of JONAPWD, Rivers State, Comrade Collins Akpana, while expressing delight at the outcome of the judgment, want the Government and other Corporate Bodies to recognise the position of the High Court on the Group and support the progress of the Group in the State.

The High Court Judge, Justice Nsirim Nwosu had also awarded the sum of two million Naira only to Comrade Akpana for interference from his opponent, Mr. Kie Obomanu.
