‎Court Grants Bail to Ahoada East LGA CSO Accused of Assault

‎The Chief Security Officer of Ahoada East Local Government Area, Mr. Hector Ekeakita, and Chief of Staff, Mr. Aloni Olodi, have been granted bail by a Port Harcourt Magistrate’s Court.

‎Speaking to newsmen, Counsel to the defendants, Innocent Nwodoh, said they were not charged with attempted murder contrary to some reports and clarified that his clients are facing charges bordering on criminal conspiracy, malicious damage, stealing, assault occasioning harm, and other misdemeanours based on a police investigation.

‎The lawyer stated that the Court granted both men bail at 2 million naira each, with two sureties in like sum.

‎He added that the matter has been adjourned to August 7 for hearing after the prosecuting counsel proferred six-count charges against the defendants.

‎Recall that the Rivers State Police Command declared the CSO to Ahoada East local government area, Mr. Hector Ekakita, and the Chief of Staff, Mr. Aloni Olodi, wanted following the violent attack on the Sole Administrator of Ahoada East, Mr. Goodluck Iheanachor, on June 20th, 2025, at the council secretariat.
