Shirley Igwe Suspended by AGN Over Alleged On-Set Assault

The Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) has taken decisive action against Nollywood actress Shirley Igwe following accusations of physically assaulting a crew member during a film production.

Reports reveal that the alleged altercation involved Igwe slapping a member of the Creative Designers Guild of Nigeria (CDGN), leading to immediate disciplinary measures from the AGN.

In an official statement addressed to state chapter chairmen and the national chairman, the Guild confirmed that Igwe has been placed on indefinite suspension pending a thorough investigation into the incident.

The AGN cited her alleged involvement in “violence, and indiscipline actions capable of discrediting the acting profession” as the reason for the suspension.

Additionally, the Guild issued a directive to its members, stating: “Members are hereby directed to refrain from participating in any film production involving her.”
