Nasarawa United and NPFL Top Scorer, Yusuf Set to Join Tanzanian Side

According to a recent report, it has been confirmed that Anas Yusuf, the top scorer of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL), has agreed to transfer to the Tanzanian club, Tabora United.

The report clarified that Yusuf will be moving to Tabora United from Nasarawa United. The 27-year-old player was the leading scorer in the NPFL last season, netting 18 goals.

Yusuf’s contributions were crucial in helping Nasarawa United avoid relegation. He is currently training with the Super Eagles B team in preparation for the upcoming 2024 African Nations Championship.

This tournament is set to take place from August 2 to 30, 2025, and will be jointly hosted by Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania.

Yusuf has had the opportunity to work with several experienced coaches, including Bala Nikyu, Usman Adams, and former Super Eagles manager Salisu Yusuf. Each of these mentors has contributed to refining various aspects of his game, such as finishing, tactical awareness, and overall attacking instincts.

By the 2024–25 NPFL season, Yusuf had found his rhythm. With 18 goals to his name, including two hat-tricks (notably against El-Kanemi Warriors and Abia Warriors), he emerged as the league’s top scorer, earning the prestigious Eunisell Boot Award.
