The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Rivers State Council has successfully concluded a one-week revalidation exercise for its members. Over 200 practicing journalists participated in the exercise, which aimed to eliminate quackery and compile a membership compendium.
The exercise, initially scheduled from July 7 to 11, 2025, was extended by two days (July 14 and 16, 2025) to accommodate journalists who missed the stipulated days.
The Revalidation Committee, led by Elder Anya Godpower Lekia, expressed gratitude to the NUJ State Chairman, Comrade Paul Bazia-Nsaneh, for the opportunity to serve. The committee commended journalists for their overwhelming turnout, noting that the exercise would help eradicate quackery.
A compendium of membership will be published, showcasing the outcome of the exercise.
The NUJ Rivers State Council aims to maintain professionalism and integrity within the journalism profession.
