A public affairs analyst, Mr. Lekan Ojo, has called on leaders to emulate the discipline and leadership style of the late President Muhammadu Buhari.
Mr. Lekan Ojo, who reflected on the legacy of the late President Buhari during an interview with our correspondent, painted a picture of a leader who, despite his flaws, stood as a symbol of discipline.
According to him, Buhari’s introduction of the “War against Indiscipline” during his tenure significantly reduced indiscipline in the country.
“We should emulate Buhari for his high level of discipline, which, when he was the military head of state, he created the War Against Indiscipline.”

“We should emulate him cause if by the time we emulate that if corruption and indiscipline end we will get it right” he said
However, Mr. Ojo did not shy away from critiquing the shortcomings. He also advised leaders to prioritise investing in the healthcare sector, building proper medical facilities, and utilising local healthcare services instead of relying on foreign medical tourism.
He pointed out that the late President’s passing should serve as a stark reminder of the fragility of life and the importance of accessible healthcare.
Mr. Ojo concluded by saying that no leader is perfect, and it’s crucial for leaders to learn from the mistakes of others and emulate the good qualities of leaders from other countries, adding that the aim is to strive for excellence and continuous improvement in governance.
