Rivers United Goes For Thanksgiving Ahead Of New Season

On Sunday, July 13, 2025, Rivers United FC’s Management, Technical Crew, Players, and Staff gathered at Salvation Ministries, Home of Success, located at Plot 17, Birabi Street, GRA, Phase 1, Port Harcourt, Nigeria, for a vibrant thanksgiving service. The event celebrated the club’s successful 2024/2025 football season and served as a rededication for the upcoming 2025/2026 campaign.

A Joyful Expression of Gratitude
Led by General Manager Chief Dr. Okey Kpalukwu and Technical Manager Finidi George, the Rivers United contingent, including players captained by Temple Emekayi, filled the service with praise and dance, thanking God for His blessings and mercies throughout the season. The atmosphere was one of faith, gratitude, and unity as the team reflected on their achievements.

Prayers for the Future
Pastor Mrs. Peace Ibiyeomie, wife of Pastor David Ibiyeomie, led heartfelt prayers, asking for God’s guidance and success in the new season. Her prayers, charged with conviction, sought divine support to elevate the team beyond their previous accomplishments.

Looking Ahead
With the Thanksgiving service concluded, Rivers United FC is now preparing for the Eko International preseason cup in Lagos State. The team will face Shooting Stars on Wednesday, July 16, at 3 pm. Bolstered by faith and the support of their fans, the club is determined to excel in the upcoming season.

Gratitude and Optimism
Rivers United FC expressed heartfelt appreciation to their supporters and pledged to make them proud in the 2025/2026 season, trusting in God’s continued guidance as their source of strength.
