Former English centre-back Rio Ferdinand is recognized as the most ardent supporter of Nigerian superstar Victor Osimhen, as reported.
The ex-Manchester United centre-back, during a conversation with Australian tennis player Nick Kyrgios for talkSport UK regarding his perspective on Gyokeres’ imminent transfer to Arsenal and Galatasaray’s interest in Osimhen, expressed indifference towards the Swedish player’s move to North London, but was concerned about Osimhen’s potential transfer to Galatasaray.
“I feel like a broken record. For those who listen to my podcast, I have been advocating for Osimhen for quite some time,” Ferdinand stated.
“He is a centre-forward with experience and knows how to score goals at the highest level. I noticed today that Galatasaray has submitted a £50 million bid.
“In my opinion, £50 million for a top-class striker, one of the best in the world, is merely a pittance in the current market.
“I would be disappointed if he were to join Galatasaray for that amount when Manchester United is in dire need of a No.9. However, if we were to acquire Osimhen, I would not be overly worried,” he concluded.
