Evans Ogbonda signs new contract deal with Rangers International

Defender Evans Ogbonda has chosen to prolong his tenure with the Nigeria Premier Football League team Rangers International, as per recent reports.

Ogbonda, who had a remarkable season with the Flying Antelopes last year, has signed a contract that will keep him in Enugu until the conclusion of the 2026/2027 football season.

The agreement was finalized on Monday, July 7, 2025, at the club’s corporate headquarters in Enugu, with General Manager/CEO, Amobi Ezeaku Esq., and Administrative Secretary, Barrister Alex Egbo, in attendance.

Ogbonda, a former left-back for Akwa United and Bendel Insurance, expressed his happiness and dedication to the club.

“Rangers remains the largest club in the nation despite the challenges faced last season,” a resolute Ogbonda stated.

“I am committed to staying here to contribute towards achieving our shared goals in the upcoming season. The people of Enugu have shown me great affection, and I will not abandon them due to the minor setbacks we experienced last season. Rangers will reclaim its rightful place by the end of the next season,” he concluded.

In his remarks, Rangers CEO, Amobi Ezeaku, commended Ogbonda for his professionalism and expressed his confidence in the club’s prospects for the forthcoming season.
