Liverpool To Pay Remainder of Diogo Jota’s Contract to Family

The Portuguese footballer Diogo Jota, along with his brother Andre Silva, tragically lost their lives in a car accident on Thursday.

According to a recent report, the team that Diogo Jota was affiliated with before this unforeseen tragedy, Liverpool, will honor the remainder of the player’s contract by providing compensation to his grieving family.

This act of kindness follows the untimely death of the 28-year-old forward in a car crash that occurred in Spain on Thursday morning.

The report indicated that the Portuguese international had two years remaining on the contract he signed with Liverpool in 2022.

The club’s decision ensures financial support for Jota’s widow, Rute Cardoso, and their three children during this sorrowful period, as stated by the Portuguese outlet Record.

Tributes have been paid outside Anfield and across Portugal, while teammates and staff have expressed their shock at the loss of the talented striker.

In the early hours of Saturday, the gifted striker was laid to rest, with friends and family of the 28-year-old footballer, who died alongside his brother Andre Silva, 25, in the car accident on Thursday, seen in tears as they carried their coffins into the church.
