Tyson Fury Plans 2026 Return with Potential Fight Against Anthony Joshua

TYSON

Tyson Fury is considering potential matchups with Anthony Joshua or Oleksandr Usyk as the former heavyweight champion ponders a return to the ring, following his wife Paris’s approval of this decision.

The 35-year-old Gypsy King has retired multiple times, most recently after his second consecutive defeat to Usyk in December; however, it seems his retirement may be brief once more.

During an IBA event in Turkey, Fury expressed his interest in a possible fight with his fellow Brit, Joshua.

“Even though AJ has been my rival for a decade, he has been an excellent supporter of British boxing and has navigated the sport effectively,” Fury stated. “I wouldn’t claim to have complete control over him, but if he is merely waiting for me to make a move, he could be in for a long wait.

“He might be f***ing 60 by the time I decide I want him – or it could be next week. I am eager to consider the prospect of returning. I am absorbing everything and will reach a decision in the coming months.”

The heavyweight star underscored the importance of the all-British showdown, asserting, “The all-British fight with Joshua will be monumental, and if we both pass away without having faced each other, it would be a tragedy for British boxing.”

Nevertheless, Joshua may find himself on the sidelines if Fury is granted an opportunity to face the current heavyweight champion Usyk, against whom he is keen to seek revenge for his previous losses.

“However, what I truly desire is revenge. I only want to fight Oleksandr Usyk at Wembley, in front of 100,000 spectators, and claim all the belts. That would be my ultimate dream,” Fury disclosed.

His Excellency, Turki Alalshikh, has already announced plans for the former world champion’s return, stating on X, “The ‘Gypsy King’ will be back. I spoke with him, and he has assured me he will be in Riyadh for the season in 2026. We have a rabbit to hunt.”
