Two weeks after allocations were received, workers and pensioners under the Rivers State civil service are still left unpaid, sparking outrage over what many describe as negligence by the Sole Administrator of the state, Vice Admiral Ibok Ette Ibas (Rtd).
Mr. Abbot Altraide, a retired director in the Rivers State civil service, expressed deep frustration, calling out Ibas for failing to fulfil promises made during his May Day broadcast, particularly the commitment to implement the ₦32,000 consequential pension adjustment.
“Till now, nothing has happened, to release funds for gratuity and death benefits has become an uphill task. Oh Lord, arise and save us from this situation.”Altraide said

The former civil servant lamented that under normal political circumstances, such hardships would have been avoided.
“If not for the suspension of our Governor, all these would have been past,” he added, pointing fingers at the ongoing administrative dysfunction in the state.
He appealed to the Sole Administrator to pay their pensions to save them from untold hardship.
