Youths from various local government areas of Ogoni in Rivers State are demanding an immediate end to the violence and insecurity ravaging communities in Ogoniland.

They are also asking for immediate action to stop Fulani herdsmen attacks in Eleme, Gokana, Khana, and Tai LGAs.

The youths also want increased security measures to protect lives and property, as well as justice for victims and their families.

This was revealed in a statement on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, made available to TPCN by Mr. Imeabe Saviour Oscar, the National President of the South-South Youths Initiative.

He revealed that the peaceful demonstration scheduled to be held at 9:00 am today would take off at the UTC junction, Abonnema Wharf, to the office of the state Commissioner of Police.

According to him, “a peaceful protest has been scheduled to demand action from authorities to protect Ogoni people and lands from escalating violence and insecurity perpetrated by Fulani herdsmen.

“All genuine supporters and indigenes of Ogoni are urged to join and make their voices heard.

“Let’s stand united and demand an end to violence and insecurity in our communities. Enough is enough!”
