A landmark phase of the Leadership Training Programme has successfully concluded in Port Harcourt, marking a significant milestone in youth empowerment across Rivers State and beyond.
The initiative, powered by the United Mission for Rural and Urban African Community Empowerment in partnership with the Liberation Movement for Good Governance, brought together hundreds of aspiring young leaders with the vision of grooming 10,000 youth across Nigeria and Africa.
Described as more than just a training, the programme was a transformational movement designed to instill ethical leadership, governance values, workplace competencies, and community-driven change. Participants received hands-on training in leadership development, organizational ethics, job readiness, conflict resolution, and personal branding.
The Global School of Leadership, Management and Governance, a strategic partner of the initiative, played a pivotal role by delivering world-class frameworks and practical modules.

Dr. Nnordee King David, in his lecture, emphasized the “Stand-on-Steel” model of leadership, urging participants to be fearless and principled in the face of corruption, injustice, and manipulation. “True leaders are pillars, not puppets,” he declared.
Dr. Engr. Derefaka Nga, focused on internal mastery, breaking down tools for self-discipline, goal-setting, and intentional personal development as the foundation of effective leadership.

Dr. Fabeke Douglas, Executive Director of the United Mission and National Coordinator of the Liberation Movement, concluded the programme with a spiritually grounded charge on servant leadership. Drawing from scriptures like Matthew 20:28, Proverbs 23:7, and Numbers 16, he urged participants to embrace leadership with humility, courage, and divine wisdom.
“Transformation does not start from the top. It starts from within,” Dr. Fabeke noted, reminding young leaders of the spiritual responsibility that leadership carries.
“As we leave here today, let us go not just as attendees, but as ambassadors of a new kind of Leadership. one driven by values, sustained by vision, and grounded in service.
“As the programme ends, participants leave not merely as trainees, but as ambassadors of a new leadership era, one grounded in service, integrity, and vision. Let Africa rise through leaders who lead with love, wisdom, and steel.”
The organizers expressed deep gratitude to all facilitators, volunteers, and strategic partners who made the initiative possible.
The Port Harcourt phase of the Leadership Training Programme is now a springboard for broader engagement and empowerment across the continent. The journey toward sustainable leadership in Africa has only just begun.
