Super Eagles Striker Paul Onuachu complete move to Trabzonspor

As stated on the official Southampton website, it has been confirmed that Paul Onuachu, the forward for the Super Eagles, has completed a permanent transfer to the Turkish club Trabzonspor from the Saint Mary Stadium.

The report indicated that the English club made the transfer announcement in a statement issued on Friday.

“Southampton Football Club can confirm that terms have been agreed with Trabzonspor for the transfer of striker Paul Onuachu,” the statement highlighted.

The 31-year-old Paul Onuachu had previously spent the last season on loan at Trabzonspor, where he enjoyed a remarkable season, scoring 15 goals in 21 matches. His outstanding performance has now resulted in a full-time transfer.

The towering striker joined Southampton in early 2023, making 40 appearances and scoring four goals for the club.

“Southampton expresses its gratitude to Paul for his contributions and wishes him success in the next chapter of his career,” the club added.

Regrettably, Southampton has been relegated from the Premier League and will participate in the Championship next season.

Onuachu has represented Nigeria 24 times, netting three goals. He was part of the Super Eagles team that finished as runners-up in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations held in Côte d’Ivoire.
