Port Harcourt Hosts Sundry Foods’ Blood Donation Drive

In commemoration of World Blood Donor Day, Port Harcourt-based Sundry Foods Limited (SFL) partnered with the Armed Forces Blood Centre to organize a corporate blood donation exercise aimed at strengthening Nigeria’s health system.

The initiative, held at SFL’s headquarters in Port Harcourt, saw enthusiastic participation from over 100 staff volunteers across all departments. The event formed part of the company’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) programs and echoed this year’s World Blood Donor Day theme: “Give Blood, Give Hope: Together We Save Lives.”

Nduka Mokwunye, SFL’s Head of Marketing, described the Port Harcourt event as demonstrating the company’s commitment to community health through practical CSR interventions.

Nnamdi Opara, SFL’s Executive Director, stated: “For us at SFL, our in-house blood donation initiative is our modest contribution to enhancing the objectives of blood bank stocks and raising awareness of the importance and benefits of blood donation in the communities.”

Opara emphasized that blood donation remains a critical healthcare intervention for managing emergencies, surgeries and various medical conditions. He added: “At SFL, we are constantly seeking ways to positively impact lives of people living in our host communities. Our corporate responsibility teams are always working hard on identify ways in which we can make bigger impacts in the society.”
