‎Rivers CP Vows to Apprehend Cop Killers After Attack in Ahoada

‎Rivers State Police Command has condemned the brutal attack carried out by suspected cultists on June 23, 2025, which led to the killing of an OSPAC operative named Ngozi Ipah and a Police Corporal, Francis Friday, who was on special duty at the Ahoada East Local Government Secretariat.

‎According to a statement by Police Public Relations Officer, SP Grace Iringe-koko Police Patrol teams led by the Divisional Police Officer responding swiftly to the incident arrived the scene and rushed both victims to the Ahoada General Hospital with multiple gunshot wounds but they were pronounced dead on arrival and their bodies have been deposited at the hospital morgue for autopsy.

‎The statement added that Commissioner of Police, CP Olugbenga Adepoju, has visited the scene, deployed tactical teams to the area and directed both the Area Commander and DPO to intensify efforts to track down and arrest the perpetrators.

‎CP Adepoju, while urging residents of the Local Government Area to remain calm and be cooperative by reporting any suspicious individuals or activities to the nearest police station, vowed that the killers of the police officer and the OSPAC operative would not escape justice.
