Obot Bids Farewell To Enyimba, Eyes Reunion With Former Coach

CHAN Super Eagles standout player has officially concluded his four-year tenure with Enyimba FC, paving the way for a possible high-profile transfer within the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL). The skilled left-back, who made the switch to the People’s Elephant from Dakkada FC in 2020, has established himself as one of the league’s most reliable defenders.

Known for his threatening set-pieces, strong runs, and poise on the ball, Obot departs Enyimba with an impressive portfolio that features an NPFL title, international experience in the CAF Champions League and Confederation Cup, as well as a senior national team appearance against Mexico.

Sources close to the player suggest that negotiations are already in progress with several top-tier clubs. Among the leading candidates is Rivers United FC, currently managed by former Enyimba coach and Nigerian football icon Finidi George. Having collaborated closely with Obot during his time in Aba, Finidi is thought to be keen on bringing the left-back to Port Harcourt to strengthen his revamped squad.

Obot is also anticipated to play a significant role for Nigeria in the forthcoming African Nations Championship (CHAN), where his experience and adaptability will be crucial. With his contract at Enyimba officially lapsed, the next phase of Imoh Obot’s career is set to be one of the most closely monitored transfers in the NPFL this off-season.
