The Nigeria Football Federation has initiated a media campaign, referred to as Mission X, aimed at mobilizing and energizing Nigerian football enthusiasts both domestically and abroad to rally behind the Super Falcons in their pursuit of a 10th Africa Cup of Nations title in Morocco next month.

Having secured nine titles out of the 12 championships held since the Confederation of African Football established the tournament in 1998, Africa’s most successful women’s national team is heading to Morocco with a singular goal: to achieve a historic 10th title.

“We are dedicated to providing full support for the Super Falcons’ endeavor to secure a 10th continental title, which is why we are launching the Mission X campaign to raise awareness among football-loving Nigerians, both at home and in the diaspora, regardless of age, status, or gender, encouraging them to come out and support the team.

“The Super Falcons continue to be the most decorated national team in African football. We take pride in their accomplishments and their aspirations in Morocco,” stated NFF General Secretary, Dr. Mohammed Sanusi, from the United States on Tuesday.

Sanusi further remarked: “We want the Super Falcons to experience the enthusiasm of our passionate football fans wherever they travel, from Abuja to Casablanca, where they will compete in their group stage matches, and at any other location for their knockout games in Morocco.”

The Super Falcons also secured the sole ticket allocated to Africa for the FIFA Women’s World Cup finals in 1991 (China) and 1995 (Sweden), although there was no tournament-format Africa Cup of Nations competition during those years.
