Father’s Day: Vice Chancellor of RSU Felicitates with Male Staff


‎As the Nigeria joins the rest of the world to celebrate Father’s Day, the Vice Chancellor of Rivers State University, Professor Isaac Zeb-Obipi has applauded the contributions o male staff to the development of students in and outside the institution of learning.
‎ ‎In a congratulatory message by the Vice Chancellor, he noted that their role as fathers which extends beyond the University in shaping lives and inspiring futures was commendable.

‎”To our esteemed male staff, particularly our fathers, on the occasion of Father’s Day 2025, I salute you and extend warm greetings and appreciation for your dedication, leadership, and mentorship. Your roles extend beyond the university walls, shaping lives and futures. As fathers, you inspire, guide, and nurture. Your influence resonates deeply, fostering growth, resilience, and character.”

‎Professor Zeb-Obipi stated that the role of a father as a mentor can not be overemphasized and male staff have an unconscious duty to bestow admirable personality onto students. He celebrated their contribution as staff and fathers, urging them to continue on the positive path of guidance.

‎”One area of my research interest in Organisational Behaviour has been Organisational Parenting. Inspired by my relationship with some of my mentors, I developed this concept as the highest form of mentoring wherein a mentee acquires some values, behaviours and privileges of a mentee. This makes every male staff, that bestows their admirable personality onto students, an organisational parent worthy of commendation this day designated to honour fathers across the world.”

‎The Vice Chancellor appreciated the role of male staff in ensuring that the excellent standard of the University was sustained and wished them a Happy Father’s Day Celebration.
