In commemoration of the International Father’s Day, annually celebrated on June 15, the Nigeria Union of Journalists NUJ, Rivers State council has urged fathers to rededicate themselves to the urgent and critical role of fatherhood that will bring desirable change in the State.

NUJ also called on fathers to act in honour and dignity to build successful families in society. The council made this call in their felicitation message to Fathers on Sunday, June 15, 2025, in a statement by its Chairman, Comrade Paul Bazia -Nsaneh and Secretary, Dr Ijeoma Tubosia.

The statement read, “Fathers are like reflective mirrors to their children; so it is important that they ensure that they are living examples to their children to instill the right values and character, so as to bring about the desired change in society and their families and society proud.

“The Council also urged fathers to continue to do all they can, to create a conducive atmosphere for the children to thrive. “NUJ therefore, wishes all fathers a happy celebration, divine protection, and good health as they celebrate this year’s Father’s Day.”
