The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has appointed TECNO, a subsidiary of Transsion Holdings, as the official Global Partner for the TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) Morocco 2025 and AFCON 2027, which Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda will co-host.

The announcement of this partnership was made in Nairobi by CAF General Secretary Véron Mosengo-Omba and TECNO Vice President Shiming Jiang. This signifies a renewal of a collaboration that commenced in 2023, during which TECNO acted as the exclusive smartphone sponsor for AFCON.

Benjamin Jiang, Vice President of Transsion Holdings, characterised the agreement as transcending mere sponsorship, referring to it as a platform designed to unite and inspire the youth of Africa through the mediums of technology and football.

“It represents a symbol of ambition and a collective vision aimed at shaping a brighter future for Africa through AI-driven innovation,” he stated.

CAF General Secretary Mosengo-Omba commended TECNO’s investment, highlighting its role in enhancing the tournament’s increasing global appeal.

Under the terms of the agreement, TECNO will maintain exclusive smartphone rights and will have enhanced media and social media opportunities to engage with young fans throughout Africa.

Additionally, it will persist with its ‘Dream Field Renovation’ initiative, which seeks to renovate 100 football fields across the continent by 2028, utilising sports and technology to foster youth development.
