The north London club has announced the dismissal of Tottenham women’s coach Robert Vilahamn, occurring just two days after Ange Postecoglou was removed from his position as the head of the men’s team. Vilahamn’s exit follows Tottenham’s finish in the 2024/25 Women’s Super League (WSL) campaign, where they ended up second from the bottom, having secured only five victories out of 22 league matches.
“There have been some remarkable moments during Robert’s time with us, including our first-ever FA Cup final appearance,” stated Andy Rogers, managing director of Tottenham women. “Nevertheless, the results and performances this season have not met our expectations, and it is now the appropriate time to implement a change.
“We would like to express our gratitude to Robert for his professionalism and dedication over the past two years, and we wish him success in his future endeavors.” The 42-year-old Vilahamn took charge of Tottenham’s women’s team in July 2023, coming from Swedish club BK Hacken.

In his inaugural season, Vilahamn guided the north London club to their first FA Cup final, where they were defeated 4-0 by Manchester United. He also led Tottenham to a sixth-place finish in the 2023/24 WSL, just one position shy of their highest-ever league standing.
His impressive debut season resulted in a new three-year contract extension last July. However, Vilahamn was unable to sustain the momentum, as Tottenham fell to 11th place and conceded a concerning 44 goals, with only relegated Crystal Palace allowing more.
With both Vilahamn and Postecoglou now dismissed, Tottenham faces a summer of significant changes as they seek to find appropriate replacements for the two. The decision to remove Postecoglou was particularly contentious among fans, given that he ended the club’s long 17-year trophy drought by leading Tottenham to a 1-0 victory over Manchester United in the Europa League final.
