Rivers State Administrator, Retired Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ekwe Ibas, has promised to end the long neglect of the Songhai Integrated Farms and other state-owned infrastructures that have the potential to improve the fortune of the state.
Retired Vice Admiral Ibas gave the assurance shortly after an inspection tour around the Songhai Integrated Farms, the Model Primary Healthcare Center, and the abandoned Primary School One project, all located in Bunu Tai Community in the Tai Local Government Area.
He pointed to the enormous resources Rivers state is blessed with that should provide better living conditions for the people and the quality of infrastructure that have been established through visionary leadership and regretted that most of them are largely underutilized.

Vice Admiral Ibas stated that the process of rehabilitation of the Songhai Integrated Farms would commence in earnest and concluded so that it can become fully operational, emphasizing that the government will engage critical stakeholders and prospective investors with a view to commencing rehabilitation work at the project.
The Administrator who also inspected facilities at the Mother and Child Hospital along the Port Harcourt-Aba Expressway and the Dr. Peter Odili Cancer, Cardiovascular Diagnostic and Treatment Center in Rumuokwuta, noted the current state of the facilities and assured that the government will look at what is on the ground and take necessary decisions that will facilitate optimal use to actualize the purpose for which they were built.
