Patience Ozokwor Denies Land Grabbing Allegation

Patience Ozokwor

Renowned Nollywood actress Patience Ozokwor, popularly known as “Mama G,” has responded to accusations that she forcibly seized a piece of land belonging to a widow and her daughter. The controversy began when the widow, in a widely circulated video, alleged that the actress unlawfully took over a property left behind by her late husband without their permission.

The emotional appeal quickly went viral, sparking widespread criticism online, with many social media users condemning the veteran actress.

However, Ozokwor has firmly refuted the claims. In a statement posted on her social media platforms, she explained that she legally acquired the land 15 years ago, in 2010, and that the widow, the previous owner, had initiated the sale through her agent.

“Fast forward to last year, 14 years later, the previous owner decided it was a great idea to sell a plot out of my land without my knowledge,” she wrote.

According to Ozokwor, after discovering the attempted resale, she secured her property by fencing it, only to face a public backlash orchestrated by the widow and her daughter.

“This is blackmail, fraud, and malicious intent,” she stated, further alleging that the false accusations have damaged her reputation and led to financial donations for the accusers through public sympathy.

Rather than engaging in a public dispute, Ozokwor revealed that she is pursuing legal action to clear her name. “As social media is not a court, I am pursuing legal means to vindicate my name because it took years to build,” she said.
