FRSC Hosts National Workshop for Driving School Instructors to Enhance Road Safety Standards

The Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, held a national workshop for driving school proprietors and instructors, focusing on the theme “Entrenching Highway Safety in Nigeria through Standardized Drivers and Rider Training.” The workshop is aimed to enhance road safety standard across Nigeria

Speaking at the event in port harcourt Assistant Corps Marshal Henry Benamasia, the Zonal Commanding Officer of RS6 Headquarters, emphasized the importance of the training in fostering a better understanding between the FRSC and driving school professionals.

He urged participants to prioritize learning and improvement in their training methods, rather than solely focusing on financial gain.

He said “we are to listen to understand and to find practical solution to the challenges confronting the driving school industries, it is important to stress that the FRSC is not the advisory of Driving school operators rather we are partners bound by shared mission to produce Drivers who value human lives”.

Sector Commander Inyang Umoh of the Rivers State Command highlighted that road safety is a collective responsibility and the workshop aimed to sensitize driving school instructors, enabling them to instill a culture of efficient and effective driving practices in drivers.

The event featured goodwill messages from notable dignitaries, including a representative of Rivers state Government, the Comptroller of Eastern Marine Command of the Nigeria Customer Service, and the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) State Commander.

Participants expressed their appreciation for the FRSC’s initiative, and shared insights and takeaways from the workshop.
