Disarm Herders’, Monarch Tells Tinubu, NASS, Others Laments Rising Rate Of Killings In Nigeria

A prominent royal father in Rivers State and traditional Prime Minister of Okoloma-Ndoki Community, Chief Sampson Akaya, has called on the Federal Government to do all within its powers, to bring to an end, the incessant serial killings across the country over the years.

Chief Akaya made the submission recently, while speaking with newsmen in Okoloma-Ndoki Community, in Oyigbo LGA of Rivers State on the menace of herdsmen who terrorizes quite numbers of Rivers communities including, Oyigbo in recent times, where scores of people were slaughtered on in their homes and farms.

Chief Akaya advocated that armed herdsmen, who have been responsible for the increased killings, should be disarmed without further delay by the government at all levels. He further appealed to those involved in killing innocent Nigerians, who are their fellow brothers, sisters and children in exchange for cows to stop the evil act. “This is sacrilegious for goodness sake.

These people ought to be disarmed because a situation, where a section of the country will be armed, and the rest don’t have anything, we cannot move forward”. This appeal goes to those who steal cows, if you are in the act of stealing cows or you know those in this dirty business, advise them to back out of such irresponsible characters. For you to take a cow and pay with your life is not worth it. This is not a good exchange”.

The second appeal goes to those who kill human beings, to stop killing innocent and helpless Nigerians for whatever reasons, because, if this killings does not come to an end, the consequences are grievous. We need to hear good news and not bad ones all the time. This is not worth full and Godly. The last appeal is to the herdsmen who destroyed vast farmlands with their cows eating up all the planted crops and other farm plantations and produce.

This is not advisable, as it can cause a reprisal attack, if the owners are eventually aware of such inhuman treatment to their crops. Chief Sampson Akaya opined that President Bola Tinubu and the National Assembly should enact laws disarming the herdsmen from killings Nigerians unnecessarily for posterity.
