Osimhen Should Snub Arsenal- Omeruo

Super Eagles Star Kenneth Omeruo Urges Victor Osimhen to Choose Chelsea Over Arsenal for Trophy Success

In a bold statement, Super Eagles defender Kenneth Omeruo has publicly encouraged his compatriot, Victor Osimhen, to prioritize a move to Chelsea over Arsenal as the Nigerian striker considers his next career step. Omeruo, a former Chelsea player, believes the Blues offer Osimhen a stronger platform to achieve his ambition of winning major silverware. With Osimhen’s loan spell at Galatasaray nearing its conclusion this month, speculation surrounding his future has intensified, with top clubs across Europe and beyond vying for his signature.

Osimhen, widely regarded as one of the world’s elite strikers, has attracted significant interest from Premier League giants Arsenal and Chelsea, as well as clubs in Italy and Saudi Arabia. The 26-year-old Napoli star has proven his goal-scoring prowess, netting consistently during his time in Serie A and continuing to impress during his loan stint in Turkey. His availability has sparked a transfer tug-of-war, with clubs eager to secure the services of a player known for his pace, physicality, and clinical finishing.

Speaking to SportyTV, Omeruo, who spent six years with Chelsea’s senior and youth setups, emphasized Osimhen’s potential to thrive at Stamford Bridge. “Of course, Chelsea and Arsenal need him, but I want him to win trophies,” Omeruo said. “Right now, he’s the best striker in the world for me.” His endorsement carries weight, given his firsthand experience at Chelsea and his insight into Osimhen’s ambitions as a fellow Nigerian international.

Osimhen was on the verge of joining Chelsea last summer, with negotiations reportedly reaching an advanced stage before the deal collapsed, leading to his temporary move to Galatasaray. The Turkish champions have benefited from his contributions, but with his loan set to expire, Osimhen’s next destination remains a hot topic. Chelsea’s interest reflects their need for a proven goal scorer to bolster their attacking options, while Arsenal seeks a forward to complement their dynamic squad. Meanwhile, Italian clubs, including Napoli, and lucrative offers from Saudi Arabia add further complexity to Osimhen’s decision.

Omeruo’s comments highlight not only his belief in Osimhen’s world-class ability but also his conviction that Chelsea’s project under their current management offers a clearer path to silverware. The Blues have been active in the transfer market in recent years, building a squad with an eye on competing for domestic and European honors. Arsenal, too, have emerged as genuine contenders in the Premier League, making Osimhen’s choice far from straightforward.

As the January transfer window approaches, Osimhen’s decision will likely hinge on factors such as playing time, tactical fit, and the opportunity to compete for major trophies. For now, Omeruo’s vocal support for Chelsea adds a compelling layer to the ongoing saga surrounding one of Africa’s brightest footballing talents. Fans of both London clubs and beyond will be watching closely as Osimhen’s future unfolds.
