Ensuring security of oil pipelines and other oil installations in the Niger Delta region, has been identified as a major achievement of the President Bola Tinubu led administration in the last two years. Speaking with Radio Nigeria in Port Harcourt, a security expert, Mr. Jackson Lekan-Ojo, said efforts geared toward securing the oil facilities have enabled Nigeria to increase oil production, in order to meet up the Organisation of Petroleum Exporting Country OPEC’s quota for the country.
He said “For him to still maintain that security structure that has been protecting oil pipeline I think it’s a good thing we are seeing the benefit of it, because at a particular time a standard set by OPEC were not able to achieve 20% but now we are meeting up and that is as a result of the reduction of oil theft and wastage due to pipeline bursting, our oil production is rising and the more it rises the more our economy is being boosted”.

Mr. Lekan-Ojo, however, said the architectural structure of the country’s security needs to be rejiggered to tackle other security challenges.On his part, a traditional ruler, Mene Kadilo Kabaari said the establishment of the Federal University of Environment and Technology in Ogoni land, will provide opportunity for the people to attain higher education, create employment and open up the area for economic activities.
“The establishment of the Federal University of Environment and technology in Ogoni land is a major achievement in President Tinubu Administration it opens up Ogoni land and the economy and it also puts us in the educational map as one of the first Federal University for environment in this country there is no doubt that the renewed hope agenda has made tremendous impact in the country” he noted.
Mene Kabaari also identified the rehabilitation of the Eleme axis of the East West road and work on the Bodo- Bonny road, including the appointment of numerous Rivers sons and daughters into various positions, as impacts of the Renewed Hope agenda of President Tinubu in Rivers State.
