Edna Imade’s Liga F Success Sparks Super Falcons Interest

Nigerian forward Edna Imade, currently with Granada CF in Spain’s Liga F, has been recognized for her exceptional performance this season by being named to the official Liga F Team of the Season for EA FC 25. The 24-year-old, rated an impressive 96 Overall Rating (OVR) as a striker in the virtual squad, is also reportedly on the verge of a significant transfer to German powerhouse Bayern Munich.

Imade’s inclusion in the Liga F Team of the Season highlights a standout campaign where she netted 16 goals in 29 appearances, placing her second in the league’s scoring charts. This achievement is particularly noteworthy given Granada CF Femenino’s mid-table finish, underscoring her individual impact.

Born in Morocco to Nigerian parents and raised in Spain, Imade’s journey to professional football reflects perseverance. Her family’s migration from Nigeria led to her upbringing in Seville, where she developed her footballing talent. Her progression through Spanish club ranks, including spells at Málaga, culminated in her current success with Granada.

Sources such as Marca and FootBoom indicate that Bayern Munich is poised to activate Imade’s release clause from Granada, with a four-year contract anticipated. This potential move to one of Europe’s top clubs would mark a significant advancement in her career.

In addition to club recognition, the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has reportedly initiated contact with Imade regarding her international commitment to the Super Falcons. With the 2025 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations approaching, the NFF is looking to bolster the national team.

“We are always monitoring Nigerian talent globally, and Edna Imade’s performances have certainly caught our attention,” a source within the NFF, who preferred to remain anonymous due to ongoing discussions, stated. “Her goal-scoring ability and physical presence are attributes that could significantly benefit the Super Falcons as we build towards future tournaments.”

Imade’s potential integration into the Super Falcons would offer a dual benefit: it would allow her to connect with her Nigerian heritage, a country she has not yet visited, while providing the national team with a proven striker from a competitive European league. Her story resonates as an inspiration for aspiring female footballers, emphasizing dedication and the transformative power of sport.
