Wheelbarrow Pusher Vanishes with N257K Goods in PH Market

A wheelbarrow pusher at the popular Oil Mill Market in Port Harcourt disappeared with a customer’s goods worth N257,000 on Thursday, leaving the owner in distress. The incident has raised concerns about the safety of using wheelbarrow load carriers in the market.

The woman named Ngozi, a retailer of foodstuffs, had hired the wheelbarrow pusher to transport items, including a bag of rice, tubers of yam, potatoes, tomatoes, beans, and other groceries, which she bought to restock her shop, to where she would book a taxi.

However, after loading the goods, the pusher moved behind the woman as he followed her direction, but after a while, he quickly ran against her direction, went behind a truck, whereafter he couldn’t be found.

Efforts to locate him within and around the market proved futile, as he had seemingly disappeared into thin air. The devastated owner was left in pain and tears, lamenting the loss of goods worth a significant sum.

Eyewitnesses narrated the incident with sadness, pain, and pity for Miss Ngozi, knowing the worth of her goods.

This incident serves as a reminder for Port Harcourt residents to exercise caution when engaging wheelbarrow pushers and other load carriers in markets. While many of these workers are honest and hardworking, there are a few bad eggs who take advantage of unsuspecting customers.
