After a pulsating FA Cup final that ended in defeat for the Sky Blues of Manchester, it means that, for the first time in eight years, Manchester City have ended a season without a trophy.
Though City gave their all to get something from the game, a 16th-minute strike by Eberechi Eze was enough to seal the victory for the Eagles.Their season in general has been below par in all competitions, and it could get even worse if they lose to Bournemouth on Tuesday, the 20th May, 2025.

This would mean they miss out on next season’s Champions League if Chelsea and Aston Villa both win their respective final games of the season. No one could have predicted that a team that has won at least one piece of silverware every season for more than seven years would falter at this point, especially since nothing significant was done that could be said to have affected the club’s structure.
Unlike Chelsea a few seasons ago, where a particular player was said to have been sponsoring certain trips from his own purse due to the financial restrictions the team was facing as a result of an impending ownership change that was forced on the team by the British Government. All the same, rival fans are enjoying this moment of fresh air, brought on by City’s inability to maintain their serial winning habit.
