Former Governor of Rivers State, Barr Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, has refuted the claims of him fighting with his successor, the suspended Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara. Wike who is the FCT Minister revealed that he is not in any battle with his successor whom he described as his “son” and “boy”.
The former governor insisted that he was in battle with those he claimed had been deceiving the Governor in an attempt to allegedly reap where they did not sow. The FCT Minister stated this in an interview with BBC Pidgin published on Saturday, May 17, 2025, where he reiterated that he (Wike) cannot fight his son and refuted claims of a feud.

In his word, “That one is not a battle. He (Fubara) is my boy, he is my son, why will I fight with him? “I’m only fighting against people who want to steal what they did not work for. “Now, they are ashamed because they are being defeated.
They are the ones pushing Fubara”. However the FCT Minister directed his anger at political figures including Celestine Omehia, Abiye Sekibo, and Austin Okpara, accusing them of seeking to benefit from a political struggle they did not contribute to.“I am fighting those who want to reap where they did not sow.
People like Celestine Omehia, Abiye Sekibo, and Austin Okpara. “I have defeated them before, and I will give them the final defeat,” Wike declared.
